No Vacancy 04:07
Autumn’s coming in She’s not taking any prisoners Summer’s at its end Taking her fair-weather friends with her Turn on the no vacancy sign I’ll draw the shades as you pour the wine The lot’s empty, and we’re on our own They can’t get to us if we unplug the phone We’ve got this place to ourselves tonight You’ve worked yourself to the bone Damn near run yourself to the ground Come on sit down close Ain’t nobody coming around Turn on the no vacancy sign I’ll draw the shades as you pour the wine The lot’s empty, and we’re on our own They can’t get to us if we unplug the phone We’ve got this place to ourselves tonight Turn on the no vacancy sign I’ll draw the shades as you pour the wine The lot’s empty, and we’re on our own They can’t get to us if we unplug the phone We’ve got this place to ourselves tonight

Just A Word 03:52
Forever’s just a word you said Meant something else in my head I wrote you once and I’ll write again But only if you’re listenin’ Only if you’re listenin’ Cause you know me That I kinda need Every small relief Like you found in me Would’ve clipped my wings Would’ve traded sleep Might’ve learned to think Pardon everything You ran to the shore I was such a bore In your Sunday’s best Always to impress I’m not holding back I’m just Humming along Forever’s just a word you said Curled for warmth in our bed Sharing a space like a soul With the ghosts and the stories they told Just so you know I’m not comin’ home tonight I’ll be here I’ll be there Don’t ask Just know I’m all right If the world stopped spinnin’ around Well I’m sure I’d feel it You said you feel it in slow bursts So that it doesn’t hurt Guess I kinda wanna see that Kinda wanna see Cause you know me That I kinda need Every small relief Like you found in me Would’ve clipped my wings Would’ve traded sleep Might’ve learned to think Pardon everything You ran to the shore I was such a bore In your Sunday’s best Always to impress I’m not holding back I’m just Humming along Cause it’s just a word No, it’s just a word It don’t mean nothin' No

You were sorry I was sorry too But I don’t know What I don’t know Well, I know that I love you And I can't remember things quite like I used to It’s the weed I think I think a lot of things I think a lot of things With a mind like mine What do you think you could find? With a mind like mine What do you think you could find? There’s a record on the stereo Playing my favorite band It was Deja, it was brand new You thought deja vu You were laughing I was laughing with you I thought you knew It’s just me I think I think a lot of things I think a lot of things With a mind like mine What do you think you could find? With a mind like mine What do you think you could find? With a mind like mine What do you think you could find? With a mind like mine What do you think you could find? With a mind like mine What do you think you could find? With a mind like mine What do you think you could find? With a mind like mine What do you think you could find? With a mind like mine What do you think you could find? You said I'm sorry too

about

These three tracks were initially laid down on December 18th, 2018 as a live performance recording at The Fox Den in Hayward, CA. Time quickly intervened and they sat dormant on hard drives until the pandemic gave us pause to dig them up and give them a listen.

What we found were three great songs that felt like we were hitting our stride as songwriters, musicians and a band. Each son was penned by a different member of the band, but when all the pieces are put together, they are undeniably TYB songs.

We decided to ditch the live performance aspect of the songs, and use them as a starting place to build out what you hear today. The production of this album is unique in that we gave ourselves time to record and re-record tracks. We could try something out, and revisit if we didn't like the outcome. It was also produced remotely during shelter-in-place, giving us new excitement for the potential of collaborating remotely on future TYB tracks.

We are proud of these songs, and hope you enjoy them. They are meant to be played loud.

With love, be well,
TYB
